Wilmore was on the ISS for nine months before finally returning home alongside Suni Williams. See before and after photos of him.
Astronaut Barry “Butch” Wilmore set out on a mission aboard the Boeing Starliner in June 2024 alongside fellow astronaut Sunita “Suni” Williams. Little did they know that their stay on the ISS would stretch to nine months after the Starliner experienced technical difficulties.
Fortunately, in March 2025, both astronauts finally returned to Earth while riding back on a SpaceX Dragon ship. Upon landing, Americans couldn’t wait to find out how Wilmore and Williams’ experience was.
