Jay North landed his breakout role in 1959 in the hit comedy series Dennis the Menace, playing the lead role of Dennis Mitchell. Since then, the former child star went on to receive critical acclaim for his performance as the mischievous youngster who burdened his neighbor. Though the series was canceled after four seasons, Jay went on to more mature film and television roles.
In April 2025, Jay died at the age of 73 after battling colon cancer.
