O.J. Simpson — aka Orenthal James Simpson — was an American football star turned disgraced accused double killer. He was a Heisman Trophy winning football star out of the University of Southern California who went on to a stellar NFL rushing career with the Buffalo Bills. After his football career he dabbled in film and was commercial spokeman for brands like Hertz Rent A Car. In June of 1994 he was accused of violently stabbing to death his estranged wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. After a lengthy trial, in October of 1995, he was found not guilty of the crimes by an LA jury. He was later found guilty of their deaths in a civil case and ordered to pay $30 million to his victims families. He was accused of robbing a memorabilia dealer in Las Vegas to get items of his back in 2007 and was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping. He was released in 2017 after nine years behind bars. O.J. died at the age of 76 in April 2024.
